About the Author Elizabeth Jamie Katz grew up in New Orleans, graduated from The Academy of the Sacred Heart and received a degree in communications from Loyola University.   She worked with her husband to co-author several books on Christian Financial Planning, including the best-selling Money Came By The House The Other Day, and enjoyed home schooling their two children for several years.

Jamie’s current passion is designing and creating a Christian children’s book series that combines her love for the Lord with her enjoyment of beauty and design.  Her vision was to create a lovely book for little girls featuring an elegant and whimsical art style and a sweet-natured story to help children know the heart of their Heavenly Father – His goodness and faithful, unconditional love for them.  It was important to Jamie that even the details of the book reflect the message that, “You are God’s beautiful and precious princesses!”

She hopes her stories serve as modern day parables which teach God’s Word in a way that is both entertaining and easy to understand – all in a lovely little package that little girls will want to read over and over again and even cherish for years to come!

From the author – The inspiration for The Princess… The Pearls… & The Pekingese came to me several years ago in a dream about a beautiful young princess who danced about with remarkable freedom and joy.   Her distinct joy was infectious as she encouraged and reassured other young women with the message, “You are beautiful, wear your pearls!”

I believe this message from the Lord illustrates the wonderful freedom and joy He wants each of us to experience by knowing His faithful and unconditional love, and the overwhelming value and beauty He has given to us.  This is a powerful message for children, especially for young girls, with all the messages in the world that cause so many to struggle with questions and doubts about their beauty and worth.

However, God’s Word says that we are His princesses… loved beyond measure! He not only loves but delights in each of His uniquely beautiful daughters.  He has designed and created us with specific personalities, physical characteristics, talents,  and interests to embrace and enjoy!

It’s my prayer that the Lord would use the stories and ideas He gives me for The Princess… The Pearls… & The Pekingese  series to help us know Him better. I hope they serve to draw us to Him, to help us want to talk to Him,  lean on Him, and grow in trusting Him to help us become and enjoy all that He created us to be!
